Hello, my name is Daniel Socall. With nearly a decade of experience, I started Socall Custom Carpentry to push myself to grow in new ways, and to seek out the challenges that come with bringing a design to life.
I began my carpentry career in 2015, working with a top-notch crew that delivered custom homes from framing to finish. I was extremely fortunate to work on many highly sought-after projects and learn from a talented team of professionals, honing my skills under the very best.
My initiation into the world of carpentry was a comprehensive one, as I was exposed to a diverse range of experiences on the job. From framing, to installing siding and exterior trim, and then more intricate interior millwork, I was able to gain a well-rounded understanding of the craft. It proved to be a truly invaluable learning opportunity that has set the foundation for my continued growth in the field.
Jobsite cleanliness was one of the most important lessons taught to me. A clean and organized jobsite is safer, saves time, and elevates you above the competition. When working on a clients home protecting the existing structure and belongings while working on the new needs to be paramount.
I was also taught the importance of remembering that what I build will end up getting seen and used by my clients on a day to day basis. Form. Function. Beauty.
Since Then
There is a thrill to finding solutions to problems that inevitably arise during the course of any project. Knowing that I have a solid framework of knowledge to pull from makes facing these problems much more manageable.
Everything comes back to the details.
Details draw they eye, and maintain intrigue long after the first glance.
The importance of preparation should never be discounted.
Having a plan and working out the details before the project begins protects against unnecessary stress, wasted effort, and money lost.
